Hebrews 4.12-16 for Sunday, October 14, 2012
Hello There ~
Thanks for meditating and praying the Scripture with me today. After listening, I invite you to post the word, phrase, image that seemed to be given to you by using the Leave a Comment button (above, right). Sharing your further reflections is not necessary in this, but if you would like to share those, it could help our Lectio Divina community build up in some new ways. Please share.
The phrase that was given to me today was, “We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality…” It is a very present gift to me, as I am currently walking with a friend facing a harsh illness and potentially the conclusion of her life on Earth. After many weeks, we have struggled to witness answers to our prayers for my friend’s healing. Today, I am drawn to the reality that Jesus did indeed face weakness and testing himself, and so, I am sensing a new trust that he knows more about what my friend needs than I do. I am drawn to all of the ways my friend is walking the Christ-road in very full, though hard, ways. Thank you, God, for walking it with her.
How about you? Share what gift was given in your prayer time today.
In Christ’s Grip,
Todd
