My word from your lectio today was “blessing”. I think you read from the NIV, and I was curious that so few of the versions used that word! It is a good word. From Matthew Henry on v. 18: “It is the duty of parents to pray for their children, and the great thing we should desire is, that they may be kept in covenant with Him…”. Beyond that log today I’ll be desiring that blessing for my children.
Hello, George. Thank you for this note. May your children receive the blessing from both you and from our Creator. They are fortunate to have you in their lives. Do you have a favorite place to “cross over a log,” perhaps? O, also, after many years of reading from The Message with my podcast, the version of the Bible that I read from these days is the NRSV.
Deep Peace, George!
My favorite place is my backyard! I’m blessed with a very quiet place where I can hear so much of nature with no sounds of “progress” – cars, machines, etc. Hope you will include some reflections from your retreat with us from time to time. Thx for your wonderful work with the podcast.
