  1. Thank you. I played your podcast for my confirmation students tonight. They had mixed reactions, which I expected. One said she felt like a 4 year old ready to scream of boredom and frustration. She is the least mature of my students so i was not by her strong reaction. I figured she’d either love it or hate it. One girl said she really liked it. All said it was very relaxing. I thought it was wonderful. The reading you shared before the scripture verses emphasized exactly what I was trying to tell my students before I pressed play on your podcast. 🙂 Holy Spirit was definately at work there. Each time you read through the scriptures I picked up on a different phrase that spoke into my life and relationships. God bless you for sharing this so faithfully week after week with us!

    1. (Big smile) Hi Heather! I am giggling a little. My experience is that there are many at every stage in life either not ready for more contemplative rhythms of the spiritual life. That’s ok! But I am convinced even those folks will be better off having been exposed to and experimented with contemplative practices. One day, their life with God may seem empty and dried up, and they hopefully will remember practices they learned that can re-green, re-energize their deep inner life with the Holy. I cannot express strongly enough how thrilled I am that you are allowing your young people to experience tastes of the Spirit as you are. Let’s both live in faith that any good we give is good not because it is entirely well received but because it comes from compassion and the depth of our heart’s life with Christ. Thank you for allowing us to share in your experience, Heather. You rock.
