Yes, my family and I are safe, but we lost power for several days. I’m a chaplain in a retirement community and we had to evacuate some of our residents, including some in our skilled care unit. God has blessed us, though, in all the details! Hundreds of volunteers, rooms in another nursing facility, and other gifts of grace and mercy. There are others in more dire need, so thank you for continued prayers.

Thank you! I listened in after first listening to your interview with Fr. Richard Rohr. Very nice on both recordings. I appreciate that he talked about not rushing to find an answer because that is where I often find myself, especially as I get closer to the end of the week when I need to have a sermon in progress. If I feel too much pressure, I lose the point of Contempletive work and Lexio which isn’t necessarily to find answers, so much as it is a way of listening and being with God in his word. I didn’t have any particular revelation from the reading itself in a word, image or a phrase of the scripture, but overall, the message for me was just “BE” with me. Perhaps this is truely what it means to “pray always.”

Hi Heather! So nice to read your kindness and reflection here. I have a similar experience sometimes, and end up receiving a word or phrase that doesn’t actually come from the actual printed words in the text. Like God sneaks it in to me from between the words or something. I love that I get to be a little part of your sermon prep and life. Keep sharing!
